BMWs range of new vehicles all includes the innovative Efficiency Dynamic technologies. These technologies are a combination of ideas with the sole purpose of reducing fuel use and costs.
These include,
Auto start stop: This technology will turn off your engine whilst you are at a standstill. When you depress the clutch again, the engine will automatically start again.
Brake energy regeneration: This innovation recharges the battery whilst your vehicle is freewheeling or breaking.Electric power Steering: Instead of using a conventional hydraulics system, BMW use and electric motor system. BMW have been chosen to be the official automotive partners to the London 2012 Olympics. Due to the success of BMWs efficiency dynamics programme and its ability to reduce CO2 emissions. The London committee of the Olympic and Paralympics games (LOOG) has decided to choose BMW as its sustainability partner. This means that BMW will provide official fleet vehicles to the Games. It will produce around 4000 cars and motorbikes for the purpose of transporting athletes and officials around the Games.
Former British Olympic athlete and chairman of the LOCOG Sebastian Coe said “The size of BMW as a global brand, coupled with its presence and investment in the UK, meant that it was a natural fit.”. He continued “operationally an automotive deal is vital for organising committee. So I am thrilled BMW is on board. They share our vision to stage sustainable games in 2012”.
BMW has beat stiff completion to get the deal. The LOCOG committee set tough emission targets for the games. They suggested a maximum average of 120g CO2/KM. To which BMW surpassed. BMW will provide a range of vehicles including hybrid cars, motorcycles, bikes and conventional cars.
BMW are happy to be part of the games. Ian Robertson, member of the board of directors said: “Sportiness is the core of our identity and the core of the BMW brand. As the world’s most sustainable car manufacturer, we promote and support the idea of sustainable Games.
Most of the fleet will be based in London, however some will be in places such as the famous Old Trafford stadium, home to Manchester United.
Many car breakers have known this for some time, it is cheaper to buy a BMW from the States than here in the UK. The reason we are using breaker yards as an example is because of the huge amount of BMW American Imports that come to the UK, and back to countries throughout Europe as salvage for the parts, which have a greater demand that supply over here. In the rest of Europe it is a different story with these cars being left hand drive and suitable for the roads on the continent, the only stumbling pint is making sure these vehicles are safe to drive on the road. There is another type of BMW American Imports and that suits the classic car market. the warmer climate across in many States of the USA. mean older cars last longer and can be more original. There are some in the UK, who do not care about what side the steering wheel is on.
Buying BMW American Imports is not as difficult as you may think, but the costs can add up for VAT, delivery and shipping, so a calculator and realistic budget is something of a necessity. It is worth all the costs for the breaker yards selling certain engines for £2000 a piece, it is worth the cost to European buyers who can buy a 5 series cheaper from the States than at home often with more accessories and it is worth it to certain BMW classic car enthusiast, who can buy a BMW American Import not only cheaper, but is likely to be in better condition and more original than a rain soaked European model.
There are certain American Import auctions online, that will allow you to bid with eth American trade guys, so you do not always need to go through a dealer or broker. This does mean you need to know your onions so, plenty of research and patience is a basic requirement, but it could pay dividends for those who take the time to do so.
Continuing the them of the new BMW 3 series, we want to show this excellent video from the USA form Rosenthal. We often see vehicle reviews on TV and on the web but we especially like the way this was done because they put a 2011 BMW 3 Series next to the 2010 version and compared it so we can get a real feel of the improvements or changes over the previous model. The test drive is done from the passenger seat, something we are not used to seeing, it is normally the driver who speaks, something different. Professionally presented this car has the X drive (not sure if this available in the UK) and has the M sport package so does not represent the full BMW 3 Series range and so could be a bit biased on the model. The other obvious fact is this review in the USA when fuel is cheaper than in the UK (even though most Americans cannot believe the price of gas) , so the UK market is probably more orientated to the diesel engine market, especially when BMW has a fantastic range of frugal engines delivering over 70mpg and keeping the benefit in kind figure on company cars to as low as 13%. Most BMW 3 Series Lease deals taken out are based on frugal engines and low CO2 emissions. here is the video presented by Rosenthal.
BMW have in most cases made good looking cars, although in recent years there has been criticism regarding the styling, where it has been just too bold in certain cases, especially the 5 series. Even so, this still has not stoped other manufacturers mirroring the lines, including the French, even marketing their cars as looking German. But with the new 2010 BMW 3 Series convertible, you can throw the criticism in the bin, as this car is just stunning in every way. The hard top technology is now in BMW’s vehicles also, which adds to the practicability of the cars and takes away the edge certain French cars had whilst BMW stayed firm with soft tops. Match this with the driving experience and engine technology and you cant imaging this being anything bit a winner. There are still very few videos out there, of this new design, but this one is available and shows the car with its roof up at the end.
It is the start of the 2010 Geneva Motor show and many manufacturers including BMW are looking to a brighter future in 2010 and beyond. Motor shows are an ideal place to show off concept cars and in this case it is the concept BMW 5 Series Active Hybrid, which is set the dynamics of hybrid technology to a new level. New BMW cars on show, includes the new BMW X5, the new BMW 3 Series Coupe and cabriolet. There are new engines for the BMW 1 series coupe and convertible.
The Geneva motor show is live form the 4th March to 14thy 2010, and expect an atmosphere just that little bit more positive than last year. BMW continues to drive technology to the next level to give you a driving experience of a lifetime.
Just like all other car lease companies there is a return process for contract hire clients. To BMW the process is simple just phone the relevenat number and BMW will collect, but from a contractual point of view it is a godd idea to check over what was agreed when you first took out the BMW car lease contract hire agreement. Examples of this are the agreed mileage, make sure you have got beyond what was agreed or you may get a hefty fine, then look at the bodywork and the standard teh car is supposed to be in. It may be worthwhile, cleaning it and looking for scratches that may be added to your final fee.
Then there is the service history. Most contract hire agreements insist you service the car at certain intervals, so make sure you have left the right documentaions ot prove servicing did occur. You may find new European rules that state you have more flexibility in who you choose to service the car, but still make sure you did this correctly.
Swapalease is keen to let you know that in the USA you get out of that BMW car lease deal and if you are in the market for the same, you can get a good deal by taking over someone elses car lease contract. The video remininding us, is not that well prouced, in fact it is nothing more than a powerpoint presentation, but it reminds us that BMW car lease is probably one of the most popular contracts to take out because of the better residual values these German made vehicles hold.

Driving a luxury car like BMW is an experience in itself. Buying these high end luxury cars remains an unfulfilled dream for many. However, one can possibly possess a BMW by exploring the option of contract hire. Contract hire refers to the method where you can lease a vehicle for a specific period of time on making monthly payments. This is a good opportunity to help you procure a vehicle without worrying about its maintenance and depreciation, and most importantly, without incurring huge capital expenditure.
The following reasons make leasing a BMW through contract hire a good option:
1. Flexibility: You do not have to deal with the hassles involved in selling your car when you plan to change it. Lease is for a pre-determined period and on expiry of the lease term, the vehicle will automatically revert back to the leasing company.
2. Economical: Apart from being spared from incurring a huge capital investment for purchasing a car, you also benefit by choosing a payment option that matches your requirements. For example, if you don’t normally drive a lot of miles per year, so a payment option based on miles is suitable for you.
3. You don’t have to worry about the depreciation of the vehicle.
4. It gives you the option to choose a maintenance package, and by doing so you will only be responsible for the general upkeep of the vehicle.
Keep in mind the following points before you contract hire a BMW:
1. Determine your needs: Ascertain the time duration for which you want to have the car and also see if you have any intention of purchasing the car on expiry of the bmw car lease. If that is the case, then contract hire is not the ideal option for you.
2. Explore various available options: Many leasing companies offer vehicles on contract hire basis, so to maintain a competitive edge, they come up with different payment plans, sometimes even customise it based on prospective lessee’s needs.
3. Choose a plan that matches your requirements and make sure that you afford to pay the monthly payments. Remember that on making a default in payments, the vehicle will be repossessed by the leasing company.
4. You will be required to pay a deposit amount, which will be around the sum total of 3 months payment. So arrange your finance accordingly.
The concept of contract hire sounds exciting and tempting, but you must take time to consider everything involved in the process in order to arrive at a right decision. You should carefully analyze if leasing is the right option for you. This will depend on various factors like your financial position, requirements and whether you wish to buy the car on completion of the lease period. You will find many leasing companies offering cars at various payment options. You should make a responsible decision and choose the best possible deal.
Summary- Getting a BMW through contract hire is a good option if you wish to use the car for a specific period of time and are not interested in purchasing it after completion of the lease term. If offers various benefits like easy monthly payments, no major capital expenditure and no hassles about maintenance and depreciation of the property.
